U is for "Umibozu" as in japanese folklore.
The umibozu is a sea spirit. They cause shipwrecks against those who dare to speak to them.
The japanese word "Umi" means "sea" and "bozu" means "buddhist monk", reflects the appearence of the spirit. They are described with a big round head, shaved like buddhist monk and they are gigantic.
The myth wants that they are drowned priests.
